36절.  업  Karma                                                                      

 

업  Karma

우리들이 하고있는 What we are doing now,
지금내가 하는행위 The actions I am performing,
그이전에 했던행위 Actions done before,
모든행위 그자체가 All actions themselves,
업아닌것 일도없네 Are none other than karma.

선과악의 시비들은 The disputes between good and evil,
한생각에 일어나는 Arise in a single thought,
어진생각 악한마음 Pure thoughts, wicked minds,
일어나는 그순간이  The moment they arise,
복이죄가 되는순간 It becomes either merit or sin.

생각자체 끊어내면 Cutting off thoughts themselves,
죄도없고 복도없네 There is neither sin nor merit,
그다음에 착한생각 Then, when good thoughts,
어진생각 일어나면 Pure thoughts arise,
복이되는 순간이네 It becomes a moment of blessing.

좋은생각 나쁜생각 Good thoughts, bad thoughts,
여러가지 생각들을 Various thoughts,
마음속에 결정하면 Decide within the heart,
나의자신 생각속에  In my own thoughts,
일어나는 업이라네 The karma that arises.

결정하고 생각한것  Decide and think,
우리몸이 행을하면  When our bodies act,
그로인한 행위의업 The karma of the resulting actions,
행위업과 생각업을 Combining both action and thought karma,
통칭해서 업이라네 Collectively referred to as karma.
